25/02/18 Registration is open

Registration for the 2018 Ride For Clean Energy is now open!

As in year’s previous, the registration fee is $50. This buys you a spot into the ride, a jersey for first time riders or a cap for returning riders, and a spot for you and your friends and family at the after party. The ride will follow the same format as last year; groups of riders leaving at staggered times from Maple Ride, riding out to Langley, and returning to Maple Ridge. There are two different courses, the 61km classic course, and the 78km challenge course. We recommend that only experienced and strong riders who can keep an average pace of 25km/hr sign up for the challenge course, as it has a large climb half way through the course and a faster paced riding group. Please visit the ABOUT section for more information about the ride. If you would like to register, please click HERE, or if you have questions about the ride, please CONTACT US.

We look forward to riding with you this year. Keep an eye out for more details about the 2018 Ride For Clean Energy.

11/02/18 2018 Ride for Clean Energy

Welcome to the official Ride for Clean Energy Website! We are very happy to announce that the 6th annual ride will be taking place on Saturday August 11th, 2018. Since its inception in 2013, the ride has grown from just 12 riders to over 50 riders in 2017, with more than $20,000 raised for its second consecutive year! We hope to keep building on this momentum and success in 2018. As always, 100% of proceeds raised during this year’s ride will go directly towards the yearly research grants awarded by the Tyler Lewis Clean Energy Research Foundation. This year, the foundation awarded two $10,000 grants to worthy doctorate researchers studying in the clean energy sector. You can read more about the work the foundation does, as well as the projects they have funded HERE.

Planning is well underway for this year’s ride and as always, we will have some big announcements over the next few months. With all of the positive feedback we received from the 2017 riders, we have decided that this year’s ride will once again boast the same route and format as last year; a scenic loop starting and ending in Maple Ridge, cruising through Pitt Meadows, Langley and the scenic roads of Fort Langley, with beautiful stretches banking along perimeter of the Fraser River.

Although this year’s ride will have the same route and format as the 2017 ride, it may have a bit of different look… An updated jersey design will be introduced this year! We are also looking forward to introducing our new (and returning) ride sponsor for 2018! There is still some sponsor spots left on the 2018 jerseys, so if you are interested in having your company logo immortalised on the 2018 Ride for Clean Energy jerseys, be sure to get in touch with us (‘Contact’ tab)!

Registration for this year’s ride will be opening within the next few weeks, so stay tuned to the website. We anticipate lots of interest for this year’s ride, so don’t wait too long to register, as spots will fill up! As always, the cost of registration is $50, which secures you a spot in the ride, a custom jersey (new riders and 6th-year riders) or a cap (returning riders). You can buy a supplemental cap or jersey if you wish, just let us know and we will provide you with the details. We ask all participants when registering online to pay when during the time of registration.

Once registration is open and you have registered, we will provide you with more information on the ride, online donations, and fundraising. Like always, by participating in the ride you are pledging to raise a minimum of $250 – vital for the yearly research grant awarded by the Tyler Lewis Clean Energy Research Foundation and its sole annual fundraiser. Without the participation of our riders, the foundation could not operate!
