2014 Ride for Clean Energy

The first annual Ride for Clean Energy was held August 17th, 2013. A group of 13 riders made up of family and friends of the Foundation rode the 83 km journey from Harrison Hot Springs to Maple Ridge. Building upon the structure of the inaugural ride, this year’s ride took place August 9th, 2014 and succeeded in its goal of doubling the amount of rider participation in addition to raising nearly 10,000$. In doing so it has paved the road for future years and set its place as the Foundation’s major annual fundraiser. Proceeds from this annual ride will be pivotal in the Foundation’s ability to continually fund innovative and ground-breaking work in the field of clean energy.

The 2014 Ride began with perfect weather as the group started at 8:00AM to clear skies and mild temperatures. All those who set out on the fully supported ride crossed the finish line safely and, despite physical exhaustion, with smiles. Next years ride aims to continue growth in rider participation and fundraising, while offering a new option of a less demanding variation of the route. All are welcome to join in next year’s ride and we are all looking forward to it! We would also like to thank all the riders, families, old friends, and new friends who made the 2014 Ride a success!
